Old and...Old

As most twenty-something girls, I don't have a bottomless bank account. I enjoy shopping and keeping up with trends, but I also like saving up to acquire timeless pieces that will stay in my wardrobe for years. I like to mix high and low, and old a new. While this post has the high and low, all of the pieces are over a year old (but similar styles are linked below).
These Forever 21 booties are one of my very best F21 finds. I grabbed them in Charleston a few years ago for under $30. I still wear them all the time. My little leopard shift is an oldie from Madewell, also a few years old. The faux leather jacket is a favorite from TopShop, and a very similar version is back this year and linked below. My bag was a gift from my mom, one I'll have forever.

As a wannabe style blogger, it's easy to get caught up in wanting to constantly have new items to post. But it's also fun to pull out some old, classic pieces and mix them up in different ways. I never thought I'd be comfortable mixing leopard and (faux) leather, but this look came together easily. It has inspired some other looks I've worn lately. Next time you're flipping through your closet, take some time to think about older pieces in new ways. I love throwing on sweaters over dresses for fall. Or layering a long sleeve tee under my favorite summer tanks or slip dresses. Mix things up, you might surprise yourself!
