SEERSUCKER + SOIRÉE

I've lived in Indianapolis for most of my life, but the past two years here have almost felt like living in a brand new city (in a good way). JR and I have lived downtown and now in Butler-Tarkington, which has introduced me to a whole new set of restaurants, neighbors, and routes to work. And thanks to both my full-time job and my side gig as a self-proclaimed style blogger, I've met some really lovely people. Thanks to one of the loveliest of aforementioned people, Beth from Seersucker + Saddles, I had the pleasure of receiving an invitation to her s e e r s u c k e r + s o i r é e.

The lovely host, Beth.

Beth got together a group of local Indianapolis bloggers this past Saturday at the Gallery Pastry Shop for brunch, thanks to Visit Indy. While I've been lucky enough to meet, or even work with, a few of the girls pictured above, there were still quite a few who I only knew via Instagram. It was so nice to get together with everyone in person to talk about life outside of blogging (though we couldn't quite pull ourselves away from Instagramming and snapping a few selfies). As Beth explained in her post, "There’s quite the blogger crowd in our lovely city of Indy; however, the majority of us had yet to meet. Well that just didn’t sit right with me as I’m a firm believer that us gals gotta stick together, brainstorm together, laugh together, and most importantly S U P P O R T together!"

I mean, seriously, how cool is she?!

I consider myself a somewhat small fish in the big pond of blogging, so Beth's words really resonated with me.  It's so easy to get caught up in the likes and follows and business of it all, that we forget to have fun, laugh, and support each other. And that's exactly what this little event was all about -- supporting each other and the amazing businesses that make Indy such a great place to live.

If you haven't yet checked out the Gallery Pastry Shop, you MUST go! It's sits back off 54th street, so as you pass by Mama Carolla's, keep an eye out. The decor was beautiful, the food was amazing, and they even host private events. It would be the perfect spot for either brunch with the gals (à la seersucker soirée) or a cozy date night with the future hubs. Bright, gorgeous flowers from Lady Bird Shopette were the perfect addition to the beautiful wood tables and colorful macarons were as pretty as decor as they were delicious! Kelly creates the cutest macarons in all colors and flavors (check out her Instagram to see the sweetest little unicorn macarons -- you read that right, a macaron decorated like a unicorn. I die).

All in all, it was a beautiful morning and one that I'll keep close to my little blogging heart! All of these women inspire me every day -- it was so nice to meet, share stories, share photos, and share support for each other and the city we call home.
