Winter Brights

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I took a much-needed break from both work and blogging and spent the long holiday weekend with family. As much as I love my job, and I love keeping up with my blog, sometimes it's nice to completely step away...especially during the holiday season!

Ok, I wasn't just spending time with family and relaxing. I did a little bit of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday shopping. As we get ready to hopefully move into our new house soon (more on that later, crossing our fingers for now!), it has been hard to not take advantage of sales and free shipping. But JR (being the sensible man he is) also made me promise to not buy anything else for the house until we get in, get settled, and see what we need. Not how I would do things, but OK, I see his point.

If you're perfectly settled in a home for the holidays (as I hope you all are -- whether it's your own or your family's), there are plenty of sales to help prepare you for holiday parties and winter temperatures. I thought this look was a fun twist on a winter outfit -- I love wearing red and green and gold and sparkles for the holidays, but I couldn't resist pairing this bright J.Crew sweater with my favorite Alice + Olivia maxi skirt. A few other bright, pretty pieces are linked below. What are some of your favorite unexpected looks for the holidays?!
