The New UGG Classic

It's September 13th. That means in 9 days it will officially be fall. And no matter how many places I've visited this year, nowhere beats fall in the Midwest. I absolutely love the leaf changes and crisp, sunny mornings that late September and October bring. I love tailgates, jeans and boots, sweaters, scarves, and pumpkin spice lattes. When it comes to fall, I am #basic and proud. And whether you're with me on this one or against, I also love when it's time to pull out my cozy sweats and slouchy UGGs.

I love the sense of new beginnings and fresh starts that comes with every season change. For some reason, that feeling seems so much more pronounced to me at the start of fall than any other season. Maybe because it brings back memories of starting a new school year...maybe it's the freshness of the cool air that forces you to wake up a little faster in the mornings...whatever it is, fall has always been exciting.

This year will be especially exciting because our lease ends at the end of September and, after two attempts at buying a house have fallen through, we are debating moving back in with family so we can keep looking for our first home and save money for our upcoming wedding. So while this fall may not be starting exactly as we had planned, it's exciting to think about the changes it will bring. It's crazy that this time next year, we will hopefully be settled in a new house, living as husband and wife!

Along the lines of all things new, I've teamed up with Englin's Fine Footwear this fall to help introduce the UGG New Classics. Now, I keep hearing every, single year that UGGs are out. Yet I will continue to buy a fresh pair every, single year. I am a self-proclaimed personal stylist (and by personal stylist I mean I just try to style myself, personally), and while true fashionistas might scoff at the idea of classic UGGs, I couldn't care less. Anyone who mocks them clearly hasn't ever slipped on a pair on an early fall morning.

The great thing about the new take on the old UGGs is that these are water and stain resistant (right out of the box) and the soles have been updated for increased traction. As someone who mostly wears UGGs to walk the dog on a snowy morning or to go grab a cup of coffee on a chilly Saturday, these updates are on point. While I opted for the Classic Short II, I love the details on the New Bailey Collection (the Bailey Button II and the Bailey Bow II are two of my favorites). Check out the great selection that Englin's carries and be sure to take advantage of free shipping!

Whether the start of the season is bringing you new adventures or old comforts, I hope you enjoy it. If you're anything like me, you're excited for a mix of the two.
