Red Bandana

So it has only been 3 weeks since we got engaged (woo!) but we have already booked a date and venue, and I found my dress! For as much as I love planning and organizing, I really do not like wedding planning (at least, not the first 3 weeks of it). I'm just so excited for the actual day and the ceremony, that all of the other details and decisions seem a little...daunting.

I always figured I'd loooove wedding planning. For as much as I have talked about weddings and engagements, you'd think I had the whole thing planned out already. But when it comes down to it, I realize I don't care so much about the details as I do about becoming Mrs. Renbarger. The good news is, I get so excited thinking about the ceremony and sharing our vows in front of our friends and family. The bad news is, that's only about 30 minutes of the entire day.

I feel so much better than we have our venue and date locked down, but now it's on to the little things. The invitations, the flowers, the music, the gifts, the bridesmaid dresses...that's a lot of decisions for someone who is notorious for second-guessing everything. So...when we went to the bridal store on a Thursday afternoon after work and I found a dress I loved, I just went for it! The worst scenario in my head was going to 2 or 3 more stores and having to make a decision among a handful of gorgeous dresses.

So that's my strategy for the next 9 months of wedding planning. Think about the ceremony and marrying JR, go with what I like without exploring every single option first, and everything else will (hopefully) fall into place. And while I would typically ask for suggestions on how to plan and organize and schedule...I think I'm going to just go with my own little strategy.

Stay tuned to see how it goes! And in the meantime, go pick up a little Madewell bandana because I have been wearing them all summer. This little red guy is so fresh and fun!
