Fathers Day Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! My parents ended up heading to South Carolina yesterday morning, which meant we celebrated Father's Day a week early. So I was happy to tag along with Jon Ryan to his family's festivities.

I am beyond lucky to have such a supportive and loving family. My dad is the smartest, most hard working, humble person I know and I cannot even begin to express how much he means to me. He has done nothing but support and care for his family and I only hope that I can one day do the same for mine.

But I am also lucky to have such an amazing second-family on JR's side of things. He is so blessed to still have 4 grandparents (whereas I lost my last grandparent in fall of 2013). I love bopping from house to house, visiting with grandparents, siblings, nieces and nephews. And they welcomed me as a member of their family from day one. Today I wore a camo-print t-shirt so I could match JR's dad's camo crocs (yes, crocs).

Now, if you do find yourself dressing up for brunch with the BF's fam, this is a perfect option. The flowy skirt is so easy and cool in the summer months, and pairing it with my favorite white lace tee and (slightly scandalous) black bra added a bit of femininity and edge, all at the same time. (Although for brunch with grandmas and grandpas, perhaps a white cami under the tee may be a liiiiiittle more appropriate).

High fashion might not necessarily have been on display this particular Sunday, but lots of love and laughs sure were. And that, more than any pair of designer shoes, is what makes these kinds of days the best.
