One thing, among many, that I loved about being on a college campus was that I could check out what all the young girls were wearing. I know, I know, 26 isn't that old, but when you're surrounded by college girls age 21 and under at the bars every weekend, you start to feel like a grandma. Anyway, back to the clothes. This year was all about the crop top. Like, seriously. Crop tops with high-waisted shorts (which could go right, or very very wrong), crop tops with flowy pants, crop tops with skirts, crop tops with leggings - you name it, I saw a crop top with it. Not only does being 26 mean I feel a little old to pull off the cropped trend, but a slowing metabolism adds to the complexity of the situation. No crop top and low-rise shorts for this girl. I finally found a few ways (another post coming soon) to make it work for me. Here are my thoughts:
1. Matching prints draw the attention away from the bare belly.
2. A higher-rise, full skirt made me feel more comfortable about baring my midriff.
3. A little peek of skin goes a long way.
4. Above all else, have the confidence to just rock it.
