Mad About Mara

I love everything about the bright colors of this Mara Hoffman maxi dress. I had been eying it for a few weeks and finally bit the bullet as a graduation present to myself (less than 2 weeks until I'm finished with my MBA!). I had so much fun walking around Bloomington in this dress and didn't want to take it off. Where would you wear this little gem?!

Seven of my other favorite Mara Hoffman pieces (so hard to narrow it down to 7): poncho, gathered dress, havaianas, basket weave bikini top, slouch pant, racerback tank...and I DIE for this beautiful beaded gown - would be so amazing for a beach wedding

Wearing // Mara Hoffman embroidered maxi dress // bangles: H&M // ring: Erica Lyons // shoes: Stuart Weitzman, on sale here // clutch: French Connection, no longer available but would love this bright one with the dress! // sunglasses: Gucci

Floral 2 Ways

I love these floral pants from H&M (they're so inexpensive too!) and I had a lot of fun trying some different casual ways to wear them. The first is perfect for walking around Bloomington and the second is great for a quick date night out for dinner. I am definitely excited to style them up a little more with a pretty clutch or colorful shoes, but these two casual looks are great and easy to throw on for hanging around in a small town.

Seven other floral pants I love: 7 for all Mankind (already ordered these as part of Saks' Friends & Family!), Anthropologie, Old Navy, GUESS by Marciano, Tobi, Nasty Gal (okay, I know these are hearts not floral, but I think they're so cute!), 7 for all Mankind

Friday Favorites: Alex & Ani

Today's Friday Favorite is thanks to my good friend Monica (who I am so excited to see in Chicago this weekend!). A few years ago, she came back from Boston with adorable bangles and I was dying to know where she got them. Turns out they were from the Alex & Ani bangle bar - I immediately got online and ordered a few and have since become an avid collector. I love layering 6 or 7 of them for an easy, boho vibe. These 4 are a few of my favorites, but I also love these 7 styles: sunrise canopy wrap, compass charm bangle, set of 7 thick textured bangles, om sacred studs bangle, buddha charm bangle, slate glisten beaded bangle, tree of life charm bangle

Throwback Thursday: Love it or Hate it?

My 10-year old self was SO excited to see overalls coming back in style. I spent pretty much all of my elementary school career in this trend. Over the weekend, I decided to try the grown up version and kept it casual with a J.Crew jacket and booties. I can't wait to mix it up with flowy blouses and cute sandals once the weather gets a little warmer. I'm sure not everyone is as excited to see these little guys come back in style, and they will probably be gone just as fast as they came, but I had fun with it. Do you love it or hate it?!

Seven other great overalls to try: Free People (long), Free People (short), Big Star, ASOS, Nasty Gal, Urban Outfitters, Tobi

Seeing Stripes

I absolutely love summer and warm weather, but one thing I love about the cooler temperatures in spring is the ability to throw on a cute jacket and immediately feel a little more dressed up. I found this striped one at the Kate Spade store in Charleston. My mom and I were doing a little shopping and I saw this jacket and pulled it off the rack. It was on sale, but still a liiiiiittle pricey. My mom said "oh, just try it on" and that was that! It was meant to be. I loved mixing it with the stripes of my C Wonder dress, but have also had so much fun throwing it on with jeans and cute flats. Seven other brands that always have cute jackets: Juicy Couture, H&M, BCBG, Free People, Marc by Marc Jacobs, RED Valentino, Rebecca Minkoff

Wearing // jacket: Kate Spade  (on sale!) // dress: C. Wonder // clutch: Forever 21 (not available online) // shoes: Cole Haan // sunglasses: Gucci // jewelry: David Yurman, Michele, Hermes

DVF Friends & Family

DVF Friends & Family

DVF Friends & Family ends tonight! What better way to spend a Sunday than doing a little online shopping?  I am loving all of the fun, printed dresses for spring. And with wedding season coming up (I already have 6 wedding invitations hanging on my fridge) I might just do a little shopping myself today.

Here Comes the Sun

It finally feels like spring in Bloomington! And while there are so many great things about the season, it also means that graduation is quickly approaching. I have been busy finishing up class requirements, transitioning student government roles, and things have been a little hectic! I haven't had a chance to post as much as I would like, but now I'm taking some time to enjoy the weather and enjoy my last few weeks as a grad student. This is my favorite new spring sweater and it has been perfect for bopping around the city. Seven other great spring sweaters: 360 Sweater, Forever 21, Gap, Tobi, J.Crew (obsessed!), BCBG, Old Navy

Wearing // skirt: Rebecca Taylor (old, but love these printed shorts for a similar look) // sweater: 360 Sweater // shoes: Dolce Vita (old) // bag: Forever 21

Easy Bedroom Update

In my last few weeks of grad school, things have been a little hectic, and I have been a teeny bit MIA! I'm super excited about some new posts that are on the way, but for now I wanted to share a quick update that I did to my bedroom this weekend.

Whenever I browse in Anthropologie, I always take a peek at the cute drawer knobs. But for upwards of $10 each, I have never committed to buying enough to dress up my bedroom furniture. This weekend after running into Hobby Lobby for a quick errand, I came across an entire aisle of cute knobs in all different colors. And they cost less than half of what Anthro charges! (see all styles here). If you're a twenty-something girl living in an apartment, I'm sure you're familiar with the IKEA Hemnes collection. The knobs are so easy to un-screw and change out. And since my living room is decorated in more muted tones, I like to add a little color in my bedroom. I couldn't resist mixing and matching different colors, but it would look so chic to do all one style. When I finally grow up and have the funds to re-decorate my bedroom, I'm looking forward to cool greys and light blues. But today, on a sunny afternoon in Bloomington, spending time in my colorful bedroom was just what I needed to recharge before another busy week of class.

Seven great sites for this easy update: Anthropologie (for those of you not on a grad student budget), World Market, Etsy, Bonanza, Pottery Barn, Mackenzie-Childs (even further out of my budget, but so beautiful I couldn't resist), Pier 1
